Yesterday the first presell page on a .EDU domain was announced on the presell page broker site presellpageman.com

Facts are

• the FIRST .edu domain taking presell pages
• a domain registered in the 1980's with more than 200 .EDU backlinking domains
• more than 2000 backlinking links from those .EDU domains (so it seems that each of the 200 EDUs link to the site from average 10 pages)
• 15 .GOV domains are linking to this university
• the deep link percentage of 88% (ratio of homepage links to deep links) is just natural for such authority sites

from what I can judge this is one of the oldest and most authoritive sites that you can place your marketing content on...

I would be careful: a page on that site might kill you servers by sending just too much Google traffic your way because the links you get from that authority site are just so strong and trust-rank-powered.

So make sure you take care about your server infrastructre and database applications before using such a powerful tool!

reminds me on my friend that once got a REALLY strong link to his site - just for putting up some REALLY cool stuff --- and he struggled for multiple weeks in a row to handle the traffic :-) ... that's what other's call slashdotted :-)
