Hi,

Nice article, however I'd mention this:
As for 3rd party solutions, you mentioned only affiliate networks. There are also independent programs that, depending on solution, can provide better and more reliable affiliate tracking (since implementing tracking changes in networks is a big politics :-)

I'd also not compare MLM with affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is primarily focused on product sales, while MLM is focused on large membership base. Compensation plans in affiliate marketing are much clearer and never (or most of times don't) require a fee to join.

As for cookies - although they are not reliable, they still seem to work (CJ.com). Our solution is able to use 1st party cookies and also tracks if cookies are deleted.

"Marketing Affiliate Programs is everything but easy money!" Well, it depends. If you find suitable products and have the knowledge, you can make nice income with PPC even in competitive niches..

Well, my point is that affiliate marketing is not easy money, BECAUSE you have to find suitable products AND have to understand how to do PPC.

That's not common knowledge and there are a lot people out there that are getting burned by people selling bogus information and/or tools without disclosing the real money secrets behind the concept (altough they claim to do so).

Those are generally these guys that can only make a living by "teaching" others how to make a living on the net.
