Congrats On The Switch To Drupal Christoph

Christoph,

I wanted to congratulate you on switching your blog over from MT to Drupal. I am intrested to hear about how the switch went from one platform to another and what tools drupal had in place to make that happen.

In the past 12 months I have become increasingly intrested in cms such as wordpress,(my platform of choice), drupal and mt.

In fact yesterday, the day you launched your new updated site I recieved “Building Online Comminities With Drupal, PHbb and Wordpress. Drupal sounds great, I love the aspect of allowing other people to post on a blog. While I know I can do this with wordpress I have not looked into it deeply. Over the last 12 months I have launched about 8 blogs, about three or four other them are not out of the google sandbox (however seams the sandbox is much different now after big daddy) and earning money at a nice rate. Nothing to brag about at this point but each month I have increased my adsense income at a steady pace.

Again congrats on the upgrade ;-)

    Brian,

    thanks for your positive feedback…

Actually I didn’t intend to allow new users to create a blgo entry,
but this brings me to the concept of “contributing users” , which you definately are…

I would really enjoy to have a guest article from time to time from you, especially since you are strong in Adsense and blog marketing.

I have not yet completed all things I want here,
and some issues like the ones you mentioned are also still open… please be patient…

meanwhile I started a “Reasons for Drupal” series on my “technology weblog”:http://weblog.cemper.com

    Checkout these posts so far

    “Great reason 1: logging”:http://weblog.cemper.com/a/200605/29-great-reasons-for-using-drupal-part1-logging.php
“Great reason 2: flexible data models”:http://weblog.cemper.com/a/200605/30-flexible-data-modelling-with-cck-contemplate-and-drupal-part-2-in-great-reasons-for-drupal.php

I am going to add some more soon and provide a round-up in this blog as well..

    thanks, Christoph

PS: let me know if you want to become a “contributor” :-)

    Hello Christoph,

Leave it to me to jump the gun and create a user account and all! As much as anything I wanted to “see” how drupal handles user “accounts” as I have several blogs that would work well with this community aspect.

As for contributing articles from time to time, sure … why not ;-)

As you know blog marketing has been my focus now for about a year. It has been very slow going for a number of reasons such as launching new sites / blog that I needed to bring out of the sandbox.

Anyway, figure I will be swinging by from time to time and will post comments when applicable.

Congratulations & thanks for the module to allow anonymous posts. I’ll be trying it out. In fact, I’m testing it right now.

PS. The captcha cuts off the letters so it is hard to figure out what the letters are supposed to be. After guessing wrong the first time, on the second selection of captcha letters, I can see all the letters. I’m using firefox 1.5.07.

hmmm Captcha is always a problem here…

do yo think I should turn it off in favor of math challenge?
