DP forum with iTrader rating
February 12th, 2006 — | What say you?The famous Digitalpoint webmaster forum recently implemented a new feedback and user-rating system restricting to trader's forums only.
It is an eBay Style Feedback For Buy/Sell/Trade actions.
So NOW there are two "reputations" in that forum:
* normal "rep" values – where people give you good karma points for posting interesting stuff
* trading reputation – similar to the ebay one
Why this move?? Well – typical traders usually don't spend mich time chitchatting in general forums or even creating huge "big rep"-posts… they TRADE.
In the past a lot of traders where "flamed" down for offering too expensive packages, for "bumping up" their thread (by updating news about auctions in the forum thread, which of course caused attention again and made other sellers unhappy).
To overcome this "I'm your friend"-rating Shawn the owner of DP introduced a rating ONLY for the traders.
However it appears, that everyone who posted in an auction thread can place that feedback – which leaves it open to abuse… but AFAIK the DP forum does not track the winning bidder automatically… Can this be the final solution for improving forum-based deals?
