Dropped Affiliate Sites sandboxed – and reborn
September 11th, 2004 — | What say you?An Amazon affil site dropped to a PR0 (from PR6) on June 22nd – and lost almost all of it’s pages from 60k to 10 or 15 …
Today if you query a site:domain command , Google returns 81.600 listed pages – with the addition “supplemental result”…
Well – since we had no PR, this site stil has a PR of zero, but it gained a traffic of more than double it had before – the products are Auto-Listed in FROOGLE (Google’s product search engine) now J a great exposure for many products… and revenue is flowing in
Check the stats – Jul 2004: 3833 visitors, Aug 2004 25308 visitor
It looks like that’s a typical sample for a sandboxed site… traffic and indexed pages went towards zero… just to rebound after 2 months.
Another site dropped it’s 180k pages to 60k pages recently… this week it raised to 80k pages again as well….
Statistics: Visitors Jun: 28119, Jul’04 10796, August then 16792 and the first week of September: 9411 unique visitors – looks like it’s back, or?
I hope I could give you a little insight and information about these confusing days – especially related to Google – which might as well be a “side-effect” of their IPO, but more a simple strategy to confuse the link traders…
And sandboxing could as well be a new type of crawling method for affiliate and product content sites… getting traffic from Froogle rocks – because it brings you buyers, not lookers…
