Free Coop Text Advertising Network
July 16th, 2004 — | What say you?DigitalPoint's Coop Advertising Network is a free ad network that allows it's members to share text ads across it's sites…
Blogs and forums generate a lot of content which could be used for such a shared advertising network. So they use it and created the first (really the first?) cooperative advertising network – for free of course.
The coop network supplies a single ad to display on the pages you choose to offer as ad space. Ads are added to the rotation by coop advertising members (other site owners).
Currently supported are vBulletin 3.x forums, Movable Type blogs and Blogger based blogs.
Currently the system can serve 468×60 graphic banners, 468×60 text based banners or a simple text based ad. For the text banners, you can control the background color of the banner.
- All ads are reviewed before they become live on the network.
- Ads are served in realtime on the backend from a dedicated ad server.
- First an active coop ad user is selected randomly based on weight (the more value/ad space you bring to the network, the more impressions/weight you will get across the network).
- Once the user has been selected, it pulls a random ad that they created to display.
- The ad server serves that advertisement for that ad request.
