SES San Jose 2006

Today I am feeling lucky – as Jim boykin usually says.

While Airlines like AUA and Lufthansa wanted to charge me EUR 3500 to EUR 5000 for a non-refundable, non-changeable flight to SFO, I today got a flight to San Francisco for whopping EUR 1300… about the same price as last year imho – thanks to KLM

So I’ll be attending the Search Engines Strategies conference in San Jose

Last years’ show was a very cool and strongly motivating experience. Learning from the Google Engineers by having a beer while just standing closed to the engineers that build the spam filters, visual page interpretation and topic sensitive pagerank was just great – and I’m looking forward to even more insights this year, as this is the 3rd big SE show I’m going to – next will be Vegas /WMW again …

Of course you need to check out all the parties and might plan for “sessions you dont want to hear – better spending time sleeping an hour longer:http://searchenginestrategies.com/sew/summer06/glance.html – the seem to have a lot of private invite/limited parties this year…

Interesting – no Yahoo party still (a private one?) and the ask.com party is said to be “private” as well.. we’ll see..

Now the countdown runs:

  • order reprint of business cards in time
  • finishing all 90% projects to at least 99% :)
  • answering all emails + client requests
  • prepare notebook and digiphoto-equipemnt properly, don’t forget a single cable (I hate hunting around for cables that I’d have in dozens at home)
  • prepare all sightseeing in San Francisco (or what would people want to “see in San Jose”: http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/showthread.php?t=12855 ?!?)

a tough schedule…

but look out for more…

this year I might even start live-blogging in the sessions then as well as Barry and I think Aaron as well did last year…
