Loss Leaders sell goods so cheap that the company makes minimum of profit or even losses to draw customer´s attention to the shop and to convince them to enter the shop and maybe to buy another product.

This strategy is a wonderful way for the "big-ones" to undermine the competition, altough selling beneath profitability is illegal in some countries.
